COMET
Privacy Policy
Comet is a driver-facing Android rideshare offer evaluator.
What stays on your device
Accessibility screen content, temporary screenshots used for OCR, notification contents, offer-card text, and pickup or drop-off labels are processed on your device. Comet may store privacy-reduced street or merchant labels in local trip history after removing house numbers, cross streets, and city/state details. Route labels are never uploaded. Full screen contents and OCR screenshots are not saved.
Data used when you sign in
If you choose Google sign-in, Comet uses your Google account identifier, name, email, and profile image for account access. Settings and sanitized trip history—fare, distance, duration, verdict, status, and timestamps, but not pickup or drop-off labels—are backed up to Supabase so they can be restored. Guests stay device-only.
Purchases and referrals
RevenueCat and Google Play process subscription and purchase-history data. Supabase stores referral codes, referral relationships, reward state, and delivery status. To prevent the same purchase from claiming repeated referral benefits, Comet also stores keyed one-way fingerprints of the Play purchase and associated Comet identity. This anti-fraud ledger does not store the raw Play transaction ID.
Optional rewarded ads
After using the daily free grades, a driver may voluntarily request a Google AdMob rewarded ad. Google Mobile Ads may process device or advertising identifiers, IP address, consent choices, and ad interactions to provide, measure, secure, and personalize ads as permitted. Comet receives a signed reward transaction and stores its unique identifier to prevent duplicate credits. Comet does not sell personal data. Ads are not shown over driver apps, navigation, or active trip offers.
Feedback and media
If you contact support in the app, Comet opens a draft in your chosen email application containing your message and privacy-safe diagnostics. You may voluntarily attach up to three photos or videos. Comet does not offer a generic document picker and rejects documents, executables, archives, unknown media types, and media over the stated size limit. Attachments can contain faces, license plates, locations, timestamps, or embedded metadata and are processed by your chosen email provider and Comet's support mailbox. Do not submit child sexual abuse material, sexual content involving minors, threats, or other illegal material. Suspected illegal content may be preserved and reported to the relevant service provider and authorities as required by law.
Permissions
Accessibility reads visible offer text in supported driver apps and may take temporary screenshots for on-device OCR; screen overlay displays the recommendation; notification access can trigger faster offer checks; notifications show shift information; and battery-optimization exemption keeps the driver-activated companion running during a shift. Comet never taps Accept or Reject and never controls the driver app.
Retention and security
Account data is retained while the account is active. Network traffic is encrypted in transit. You may clear trip history in the app or delete your account and associated personal cloud records at any time. Non-reversible referral anti-fraud fingerprints and their used/revoked state may be retained after deletion so deleting or switching accounts cannot claim the same purchase again.
Your choices
You may use guest mode, disable optional permissions, sign out, clear history, or request account deletion. Deleting Comet data does not itself cancel an active Google Play subscription; manage that subscription separately in Google Play.
